ঐতিহাসিকভাবেই সিলেট অঞ্চল সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি ও মুক্তচিন্তা চর্চার এক উর্বর ভূমি। শাহজালাল বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (শাবিপ্রবি) বাংলা বিভাগ দেশ-বিদেশের গবেষক ও শিক্ষাবিদদের 'প্রথম আন্তর্জাতিক বাংলা ভাষা ও সাহিত্য সম্মেলন-২০২৬ (ICBLL-2026)'-এ সাদর আমন্ত্রণ জানাচ্ছে।Historically, the Sylhet region has been a fertile ground for literature, culture, and free thought. The Department of Bangla at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) cordially invites academicians, researchers, and scholars to the 1st International Conference on Bangla Language & Literature 2026 (ICBLL-2026).

কাজী নজরুল ইসলাম ১৯২৬ খ্রিস্টাব্দে সিলেট আগমন করেছিলেন। ঢাকায় ১৯২৬ খ্রিস্টাব্দে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল প্রগতিশীল মুসলমানদের সংগঠন মুসলিম সাহিত্য সমাজ। এই সংগঠনের মোটো ছিল জ্ঞান যেখানে সীমাবদ্ধ, বুদ্ধি সেখানে আড়ষ্ট, মুক্তি সেখানে অসম্ভব। বুদ্ধির মুক্তি আন্দোলনের এই সংগঠনের শিখা নামে একটি পত্রিকা বের হয়েছিল। গত শতকের বিশের দশকে এ সংগঠন মুসলমানদের জ্ঞানচর্চা, নারী শিক্ষা ও জীবনভাবনায় ব্যাপক সাড়া জাগিয়েছিল। যার সাথে কাজী নজরুল ইসলামেরও আত্মিক সংযোগ ছিল। নজরুলও ছিলেন উক্ত সময়ে মুসলমানদের সম্ভাবনার কান্ডারী। আর এ কারণে এক শতাব্দী পরে এসেও আমরা মুক্তিকামী প্রগতিশীল মুক্তবুদ্ধির মানুষদের স্মরণ করতে পেরে আনন্দ বোধ করছি।Kazi Nazrul Islam visited Sylhet in 1926. In the same year, the progressive Muslim organization, Muslim Sahitya Samaj, was established in Dhaka. The organization's motto was: Where knowledge is restricted, intellect is clouded, and emancipation is impossible. A journal named Shikha was published by this organization as part of the intellectual emancipation movement. During the 1920s, this movement generated a massive awakening among Muslims regarding the pursuit of knowledge, women's education, and the broader philosophy of life—a movement with which Kazi Nazrul Islam shared a profound spiritual connection. Nazrul was also a vanguard for the potential of Muslims during that era. It is for this reason that, even after a century, we are profoundly delighted to commemorate these progressive, free-thinking, and freedom-seeking individuals.

এবারের সম্মেলনের মূল প্রতিপাদ্য: শতবর্ষে মুসলিম সাহিত্য সমাজ ও সিলেটে নজরুল: মুক্তচিন্তা ও দ্রোহের উত্তরাধিকার। এই আয়োজন বাংলাদেশ, ভারতসহ বিশ্বের অন্যান্য দেশের গবেষকদের মধ্যে বিদ্যায়তনিক ভাববিনিময়, গবেষণা-ভাবনা আদান-প্রদান ও প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক মেলবন্ধনের এক অনন্য ক্ষেত্র উন্মোচন করবে।Focusing on the theme The Centenary of the Muslim Sahitya Samaj and Nazrul in Sylhet: The Legacy of Intellectual Freedom and Resistance, the conference creates a unique platform for academic exchange, research collaboration, and institutional networking among scholars from Bangladesh, India, and across the globe.

সম্মেলনে ভাষা, সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি, সামাজিক রূপান্তর ও পরিবেশসহ ৬টি নির্দিষ্ট ক্ষেত্রে গবেষণা প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করা হবে। শাবিপ্রবির সেন্ট্রাল অডিটোরিয়ামে দুই দিনব্যাপী এই আয়োজনটি নিবিড় জ্ঞানচর্চা ও নতুন চিন্তার আদান-প্রদানের এক অনন্য মঞ্চ হয়ে উঠবে। উপস্থাপিত নির্বাচিত প্রবন্ধসমূহ পিয়ার-রিভিউ-এর মাধ্যমে জার্নাল হিসেবে প্রকাশের জন্য বিবেচিত হবে।The conference features six distinct thematic tracks spanning language, literature, culture, social transformation, nature, and environment. Hosted at the Central Auditorium of SUST, this two-day event will serve as a vibrant platform for rigorous scholarship and intellectual exchange. Selected research papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
